David Wachen is a legal troubleshooter, focused on helping businesses, executives, professionals, associations and individuals manage risk and achieve practical and successful resolution of legal problems of all types. David has many years of zealously and successfully representing clients in state and federal courts in Maryland, the District of Columbia, Virginia and numerous other jurisdictions around the country.

 

As a former in-house counsel for a Fortune 500 company, David understands and appreciates the client’s perspective including the communication dimension in legal disputes, and how a thoughtful and strategic communication strategy can often avoid, resolve, or defuse a legal dispute.  His experience spans a wide range of substantive areas, including complex business disputes, attacks on reputation and speech rights (e.g., defamation, privacy, First Amendment), social media and the Internet, intellectual property, employment, business torts, class actions, insurance coverage, and professional liability and disciplinary actions.
